The Coutts family roots are deep, settling in 1856 just outside the village of Midhurst (over 160 years ago). I was raised in the village of Midhurst and over the years, I have developed a well-rounded knowledge of home components and have been involved with all facets of home construction. When it came time to build my own home, I acted as general contractor, determining house location, over-seeing excavation, footing and wall construction, assisted with the framing, did all the insulating and coordinating of the other trades through to the final product!
“Surrounding yourself with good people, being organized and having the insight to plan ahead makes a project like this go smooth” ... keep in mind, there will always be a few little surprises of some kind!
I was trained through Seneca College, taking the Carson Dunlop, certified home inspector course. The Carson Dunlop program is set to the ASHI standards (American Standards of Home Inspectors). ASHI is the most broadly accepted Standards of Practice in the profession.
